This page is the standard every factual claim on this website is held to. It exists so you can check the checker.

Source rules

• Claims about permits, fees, laws, and licensing cite official sources only: the City of Punta Gorda, Charlotte County, or the State of Florida.
• Every sourced claim carries the date its source was last reviewed — for example: CHECKED · JUL 24 2026
• Dollar figures appear only when taken directly from an official published document, and only the figures on an approved list are permitted to render. No repair prices are published anywhere on this site.
• When a source cannot be verified, the claim does not run. An unverified claim is removed rather than hedged.
• No universal maintenance or replacement intervals are published, because honest intervals depend on equipment, water, and usage. Interval guidance is attributed to manufacturers or determined by a provider on site.

Content rules

• Nothing on this site diagnoses a lift. Content distinguishes what an owner can observe from what a qualified provider determines on site.
• This site makes no claims about response times, staffing, credentials it does not hold, or work it does not perform. It is an independent service-request website, not a contractor.
• Reference material (the resources section) is published only when complete and verified — no placeholder pages, no “coming soon” content in the index.
• Illustrations are original diagrams. No stock photography is presented as local work, because none is used at all.

Review and corrections

Sourced claims are re-reviewed on a scheduled basis, and each page's source note states the date of the most recent review. Government fees and processes change; if you find a claim that no longer matches the official source it cites, use the contact form and include the claim and the source. Corrections are made to the page itself — not appended as disclaimers — and material corrections are noted in the site's changelog.

Why this page exists

Local-service websites have a credibility problem, and boat lift owners have real money riding on permit and repair decisions. The fix is not asking for trust — it's making every claim checkable. See also what this website is and is not.
